Smashbox Consulting is a digital strategy company.  They in the throes of a brand overhaul when they asked me to consult on their site. They just needed someone to take a second look and clean up the layout. Taking what was already there, I updated the design so that it was clean and easy to read.

Along with consulting comes a lot of presenting. Smashbox often sends me presentation documents that I then take and create presentation decks. These are typically built in PowerPoint as they have dual functions – as PDFs to send to clients and as actual presentation material.  This means creating a deck that’s both beautiful and informative; something that can scale from a projector to a sheet of paper; and something small enough that it can be downloaded quickly by end users. Many of the decks can be found on Smashbox’s website. It also means creating one-off landing pages where users can go, fill in their information to get access to these books. It’s a great marketing tool, a user provides their contact information and you provide them a useful tool.

But by far the most interesting project I worked on with Smashbox was the launch of Dominic Mazzone’s book Digital or Death. The book needed a cover that conveyed that a company’s digital strategy must be at the forefront of their business model or they’d be left in the dust.
In addition to the cover, I was also created the infographics that went into the book. Taking the complex information in his book and creating a visual depiction, I was able to present key information quickly and clearly.
